InsideGoogle DHTML Craziness
I decided the that I needed to change something on this site, anything, so I took Phillip Lensen's DHTML code, edited it (with a lot of help from his video tutorial) and created a moving logo/title for InsideGoogle. If readers find it annoying, I'll take it down in a day or so, but I just wanted to test it out. Let me know what you think. You may need to refresh the page for it to work.

Comments:
Yeah..it's annoying. It would be more cool if it stayed in one place, looking link the Google logo then kind of opened up and you saw gears or something crazy like that. You know...inside google. I guess thats more of an animated gif than a dhtml thing though.

That's not a bad idea! I might try it.

Nathan.. as you might have guessed by now, it's really annoying. I visited other post first and saw this moving logo. I was confused as to what happened suddenly.

Doesn't work well in firefox.

No, it is VERY annoying. Still, I like it as a proof that I am not completely inept at working with code; just mostly inept but able to pull it off in the end. I'll pull it out soon.

I _does_ work in Firefox. At least it does in the FF 1.0.

Of course the animated logo put a big smile on my face this morning, but I'm biased! (Does work in Firefox, too!) Great job Nathan.

In Firefox 1.0 (official release) it makes it impossible to click the links to your profiles (Nathan and Webstractions). This is annoying. Also there is no mention that I can find of your email address, so if I wanted to contact you, it seems that I would have to just leave comments on your posts. Just an idea.

PS. LOVE the blog.

Well, the only way I leave to contact me is via AIM anyway, so the contacts are usually the way to go.

I think I'm going to take down the code now. Still, I like the work as a sort of proof of concept, so if anyone is willing to host the page (its only 4k, and barely anyone will visit it) so anyone who does want to see it later can, I'd very much appreciate it.

Well since I can't use AIM at work, I thought I'd hint you towards this post on FreeRepublic.com (a 'conservative' group of people with republican/ libertarian views).
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1277331/postsBeing both a conservative and an avid Google supporter, I found it somewhat interesting, though not in a good way.

Thanks for the link. I posted about it.
