Yahoo Launches Holiday Gift Center
Yahoo launched Thursday what it calls its Holiday Gift Center, a place shoppers can go to find gifts for the upcoming holiday shopping season. The Gift Center will include a mix of paid placement products and editorial picks, and features top ten lists in all the "hot" categories, like digital cameras, MP3 players, clothing, toys, and video games. Since the holiday season is the most important time for online retailers, and thus for the entire internet economy, it is good that Yahoo is taking moves to stand out. It's almost a shame Google has very little in the way of e-commerce solutions (unless they've got their own big announcement coming).
